Updated deprivation web map released

We have released an updated version of our socioeconomic deprivation web map to take into account the latest version of the New Zealand Index of Deprivation (NZDep2023).

Using the latest results from the University of Otago's ongoing work in this area, the map displays deprivation at the Statistical Area 1 and 2 levels using deprivation scores calculated from responses to the 2023 Census.
