Ravinal Prakash

Ravinal Prakash is currently a Manaaki PhD scholar at Massey University, in the School of People, Environment and Planning at the Manawatu campus. His research explores the role of social capital in climate change adaptation and building resilience among Indo-Fijian agricultural communities in Fiji. He is passionate about working with marginalised communities and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. He aims to understand how community networks, trust, and collective action support resilience and sustainable livelihoods, and to bridge academic research with practical community outcomes through social capital. Before pursuing this scholarship, Ravinal worked for nearly a decade with the Ministry of Education and has a strong passion for teaching. He is also actively involved in postgraduate initiatives that promote collaboration, inclusion, and well-being. He values teamwork, leadership, and building connections that inspire positive social change and contribute to nation-building.
