Rachel Eyre

Rachel Eyre is a public health medicine specialist / medical officer of health based in Whakatū/Nelson since 2022. She has worked throughout Te Waipounamu in different health sector roles before becoming a medical officer of health in Hawke’s Bay in 2015 - 2022. She holds the environmental health portfolio in Te Tauihu (Nelson Marlborough). She has experienced the Canterbury earthquakes (2010/11) , Havelock North Campylobacter outbreak (2016), COVID-19 outbreak, Napier floods (2021) and Nelson/Tasman floods (2022, 2025).
