Jim Miller

Jim graduated BSc (Hons), MBChB from Glasgow University, Scotland, before training in general practice. Public health medicine training followed in Yorkshire, England. He was Consultant in Public Health Medicine in Lanarkshire Scotland and has been a Medical Officer of Health (MOH) in the Bay of Plenty since 2007. He has gained experience in the public health approach to a range of environmental issues including water, waste management and air quality here and in the UK. Jim has also been involved in policy, management and governance as health protection manager for Toi Te Ora Public Health Service (now part of NPHS), President of the New Zealand College of Public Health Medicine and Acting Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health.
